Hiya Everyone! I would like to introduce a friend of mine, Gerry Mooney.
He currently helps the Wisconsin in Scotland program as a contributor to guest lectures to the students and faculty. We, as alumni, have all come to like him, and we hope that one day if/when you participate in this amazing program, you will be able to meet him as well.
I am a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Open University in Scotland and a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin. I have enjoyed a fruitful academic and intellectual relationship with the University of Wisconsin for several years now and contribute guest lectures to visiting students and staff from the USA. In addition I am also an honorary fellow of the Centre for British Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin and I visit Berlin on a yearly basis to contribute to the activities of the centre.
In addition to my academic and scholarship activities and interests, which are many, I have other pursuits and interests: to the fore here is a keen interest in politics and current affairs. My other interests really revolve around football, as in ‘soccer’, and I am an avid fan of Celtic football club from Glasgow.
